SpaceX shifted Flight 14 from September 22 to no earlier than September 28, still inside the frozen forecast window. The mission remains upcoming, so the launch, orbital-insertion, and 26-satellite deployment predictions are explicitly deferred.

Current Status

SpaceX has moved Starship Flight 14 from September 22 to no earlier than September 28, 2026, still inside the frozen September 22-30 forecast window. The company did not give a reason for the six-day shift and continues to condition the attempt on regulatory approval.

The official SpaceX launch listing still classifies Flight 14 as upcoming and shows a September 28 window opening at 7:15 a.m. Central Time. The Flight 14 mission page remains the primary mission source. Independent coverage also records the September 28 target and the absence of a stated reason for the delay.

Prediction Status

None of the three frozen predictions can be settled today:

  1. Launch by September 30: open. September 28 remains inside the forecast window.
  2. First orbital insertion and survival into payload deployment: open. The vehicle has not launched.
  3. Deployment and initial contact for all 26 Starlink V3 satellites: open. The vehicle has not launched.

The mission-result and September 30 window-close checkpoints remain active. This is a schedule update, not a scored mission outcome.

Thesis Impact

The six-day move does not change the SPCX thesis. It does not demonstrate a recurring propulsion fault, a licensing failure beyond the forecast window, orbital capability, payload deployment, or operating cadence. The load-bearing evidence remains the same: Flight 14 must reach orbit, deploy the full batch, establish contact, and be followed by a dated recurring cadence before the Starlink V3 capacity step can be underwritten as operational rather than developmental.

No thesis change is warranted for NVDA, AMZN, RKLB, ASTS, or GSAT. Flight 14 has produced no engineering result, no current-quarter GPU demand evidence, and no attributable competitive or supply-chain read-through.

Trade Discipline

No event-driven trade is activated while the mission remains pending. Hold SPCX only at the intended position size. Do not add solely because a new date is on the calendar, and do not trade a sympathy move in the affected peer set before the mission produces evidence.

If Flight 14 launches by September 30, the review will settle the launch call first and then score orbital insertion and the 26-satellite deployment/contact bar from primary evidence. If the window closes without launch, only the timing prediction resolves false; the engineering claims remain deferred until an attempt occurs.
